Which Planet Should We Run to So We Can Live Calmly for Just a Little Longer?

Oculus archive. First published on 14.02.2023.

This question in the comments seemed pressing to me, and it concerns everyone who is enduring the hardships of war. Of course, for all of us everything happens differently: some have it easier, some harder. But probably half the world is now worried about what is happening, and if you focus on crises, the body cannot withstand the inner tension. Advice to enjoy every day does not help much; it was relevant at the very beginning, when hope for a quick end to this horror was still alive. Now everything simply begins to fall from one's hands.

The phrase "one should accept what is happening" helps the intellect, but it does not help the body at all when the body is living through daily stress. In fact, crises are a familiar thing for us; birth itself is the first, the strongest crisis we experience. A crisis before the inevitable and the unknown. After birth, our whole life becomes filled with dangers; everything will no longer be as good as it was in the mother's womb. And remember the first days when you change your social environment in childhood: the first trip to school, to the yard, moving to a new place. This is usually stress for a child.

But there were unique children for whom nothing mattered. They love new acquaintances and new places, they actively talk about the place where they lived or had been before. And it gives the impression that they do not experience any crisis. And remember your first exam: how frightening was it? And for some people, an exam or an ordinary day is all the same. And the first date, the first kiss, the first sex. All these are stages a person goes through, becoming more adult or simply more experienced.

But with what inspiration you talk about the crisis you overcame, how valuable the experience you received is. After all, it is only on what we have lived through that we build everything that later defines us. Therefore crises are a place for a push forward, a basis for change. Our world is changing too quickly for us to allow ourselves to remain the same; if we do not change, external changes will swallow us, and we will still change, but no longer of our own will.

Fear is not just a feeling, fear is not only a reflex, fear is a marker that what is happening must be treated with heightened attention. Brave people are afraid; from the outside it seems they are not scared, but in reality they use fear as fuel, as a superpower that sharpens all our instincts. Fear is a helper and a guide in a crisis situation; fear should always be perceived as the body's transition into a special mode of life. Think of those who parachute, those who conquer mountain peaks or the depths of the ocean, or those who take part in any kind of racing. For them, fear is the meaning of their life. For them, the taste of adrenaline is the taste of freedom, the opportunity to do what others cannot.

There are not many religions that are based on war, not many gods of war whom people praised. The Scandinavian religion of the Vikings is one of the few, but at the same time one of the remarkable religions of the world. That is why our warriors have so many Scandinavian attributes. All-Father Odin accepts into Valhalla only true warriors who have died in battle.

When I studied runes and, in meditation, touched the world of the Scandinavian gods, I saw the inner strength of the spirits of nature that the Vikings sang of; then it became clear to me that the time of war and warriors is the time when you can show what you are made of. The average person lives their boring, monotonous life, with foolish scandals, daily worries and petty anxieties; only war can give a true warrior a feeling of freedom and significance.

Only war gives the opportunity to manifest those hidden forces within oneself that merely slumber in ordinary life. No true warrior will agree to die in old age from disease if there is an opportunity to die with honor in battle for his brothers-in-arms, defending his family and land.

I had an experience of the shamanic ritual of Ayahuasca. This ritual is so unusual, and the substance acts so individually, that studying Ayahuasca requires a great deal of time and attention. In some cases Ayahuasca has absolutely no effect on a person; I read a story about a man who went through this ritual 22 times, and only after the 22nd time did Ayahuasca accept him and reveal its secrets.

Traditionally, Indians used this or a similar ritual with peyote as an initiation into warriors. And the power of the ritual is that the brew a person takes internally is a brew in which the spirit of the plant resides, and in the first stages the spirit of the plant tests the person in every possible way, first and foremost with fear. I should note that Ayahuasca acts individually on everyone, but with a high concentration or with special sensitivity to the components of the brew, a person experiences the experience of death.

And although from the outside it seems like a simulation of death, the person himself experiences a very real death, and he cannot run away from it. In the same way, I could not run away from my own death, and I had to look my fears in the face. Only in the face of death do you understand what is real in the world. Only in the face of death can you adequately evaluate your life. Only after the Ayahuasca experience did I understand why I had spent so much time on yoga. But I am not talking about my inner discoveries, but about cleansing oneself of the illusions of life.

Everything only seems to us; it seems to us that life is stable, it seems to us that there is a good or bad time. It seems to us that our actions have some significance for someone, but first and foremost they have significance for ourselves. This is our life, and it is for us to decide how to live it. Neither Putin nor the war can change that. But this is visible only when you can find something real inside yourself, something devoid of this illusion of life. The thing for which you, personally, came into this life.

I have long had no doubts about incarnations; everything definitely does not end with this life, there will be the next one, and then the next, and much more after that. Think about why you are here. What brought you to this particular place and this particular time? What is your purpose here and now? It does not necessarily have to be some global goal or a task from higher powers. No, it must be your personal task for this incarnation. A crisis is given so that you can realize this goal, so that you can complete this task. Start small, with what you want right now.

Talk to a lonely person, feed the hungry, pick up someone else's cigarette butt or piece of paper. Finally repot your flower. Nature around us is alive; plants and flowers need us. For all of them, we are gods. A flower will not repot itself, a hungry crow cannot always find food for itself, plastic trash in the river will not throw itself away.

All these odd people who fight for ecology, for cleanliness, for equal rights for all people. They receive a great deal in return; they have a goal, they are connected to something larger than themselves, they are in balance. All of us have a wonderful opportunity to connect with something bigger than ourselves, something that affects the entire globe. Every Ukrainian, wherever he may be and whatever he may do, is already connected to something large and great, something greater than all of us.

And in this battle we are on the side of good; in it we are warriors of light. Not everyone is so lucky in this incarnation, to end up on the right side. The Russian forces also have a goal, and they too are connected to something larger than themselves, but they are on the cursed side, on the side of evil.

I am not calling anyone to anything; I believe everyone is free to make their own choice independently. For girls who wanted to see the world, there is now a chance to do it with a Ukrainian passport. For boys who love machinery and dreamed of flying and shooting, there is such a wonderful opportunity. Perhaps someone wanted to become a preacher or a psychologist - there are opportunities for you too. Someone simply loves to help - volunteers always need your help. Find your place in this war, to hell with everyone else's opinions, do what your soul is drawn to.

Favorite work always absorbs you so strongly that you do not have time to realize that there is some crisis around. When you are solving a true inner task, all other details become unimportant; do not live other people's lives at someone else's direction, live your own life.

Only you can decide how to live this life; no one can prevent you from doing so, and it is always only your inner decision.
