So You Say: Statistics Rule the World.

Facebook archive. First published 18.11.2025.

So you say: statistics rule the world. The Pareto principle is a division in the proportion of 80% to 20%. 80% of people have 20% of all the world's money; 20% of people have 80% of the world's money. The same distribution exists between smart and stupid people; there are fewer smart ones. Even the small part that takes 20% is also divided in this proportion a second time, 80 to 20. But this is reality, so to speak, offline. Online the numbers are even more modest. The average conversion is 1-3%, strongly dependent on the niche and the product.

The words are, of course, clever and unclear; put more simply, a minority sits on the internet, and within this minority a maximum of 3% of people take the internet seriously. This is a certain elite. Those people who are ready to try something new and take risks. A logical question arises: what are the 97% doing? The answer is obvious — nothing. More often they are simply zoning out on videos or hating on someone.

It seems like obvious information, but all 100% are sure that they control their lives. Mercury is retro now until the 29th; today Cloudflare went down and half the world's websites went down after it. So astrology rules the world, not statistics.

Many astrologers are sure that they definitely know what will happen there. After all, I know astrology. Are you sure of that? In all schools of astrology there are astrological houses, but only in Jyotish does the word bhava (used in the sense of an astro house) have the meaning of area. And that is logical: not some abstract house, but an area in the sky.

Has no one wondered why the 11th house, the most astonishing house in astrology, is ruled by the malefic Saturn? Why is the 12th house, which hides a planet and is among the three bad houses, ruled by the benefic Jupiter? And what other questions have you not asked yourselves, and what else do you not understand?

We are used to thinking that numerals are Arabic, but they are Indian; the Arabs simply spread them. Newton's third law, where F = - F, violates a mathematical rule, and only after one physicist was trolled on the internet did people begin to treat this formula more seriously.
