The Root of Mutual Misunderstanding.

Mutual misunderstanding turns out not to concern facts or knowledge. At this point one wants to take a deep sip of tea, or something stronger. If I manage to convey my experience, then your life will no longer be the same.
Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon, although it sounds like some kind of ailment. The essence of the phenomenon is that some people see the colors of the days of the week, can feel the taste or smell of music; the same applies to sensations of letters and numbers, or time is perceived as a spatial figure, and months or years may be located closer or farther away in this figure.
And now think about what one can talk about with a person who does not feel the jam taste of Thursday and does not see the lemon color of Tuesday. With a person who does not live the year as a circle of months, where red January is at the top and lettuce-green July at the bottom. With that person for whom the sea is just water.
At this point, a person who has not a single sign of synesthesia will draw the logical conclusion that synesthetes are psychos. But there is the most common synesthesia - misophonia. For example, if the sound of iron against glass irritates you, you are a synesthete; or if in principle there are sounds that irritate you. If this is not about you either, remember your reaction when some person hits themselves against something, and if you wince or in some other way feel that person's pain, this is also synesthesia.
Perhaps I have again failed to find synesthesia in you; I have one last trump card left - yawning. If you yawn after someone else has yawned, then you are able to understand what synesthesia is.
Do not despair if you have none of the signs of synesthesia I have described - this is normal, just as the presence of all synesthesias together is normal. In simplified form, synesthesia is perceived as a range of sensitivity. A correlation suggests itself between synesthesia and the strength of Venus in astrology. My Venus is exalted, this is the strongest position of the planet, and therefore I possess hypersensitivity; for someone else Venus is deprived of strength, and then that person is almost deprived of sensitivity. And the statistical majority falls roughly in the middle of this range of sensitivity.
Scientists have traced that in synesthetes one sensory system is connected with another sensory system, sound is connected with color, for example. And because of this feature, the brain of such people sees connections where other people, who do not have this connection, do not see them. And the more sensory systems are connected to one another, the more sensitive the person will be. For them the world will look richer, more filled with additional meanings.
What does this give us? You will ask. If what I have described is new to you, then the effects you have observed in life one way or another will become understandable to you. It will become clear why fashion magazines show ready-made color combinations in clothing. Why contemporary art is so provocative, sometimes disgusting, and often hyperbolized. Why some people love theater, opera, and classical music, while others go there simply to look cooler in the social environment where this is accepted.
It will become clear why esoteric connections between events are not so obvious to many people. It will become clear exactly how people with supersenses perceive the world, and why they can see the future or understand other people's thoughts. Why the shamanic ritual of Ayahuasca does not work on some people. All this is connected with the structure of our brain. Some people do not see subtexts, do not see hidden connections, do not see relationships between seemingly unrelated objects. They do not possess a sense of taste and are unable to see beauty. For them there is no difference between violet and lavender, and for them it is simply purple.
If we continue the analogy further, it becomes clear why there is an enormous gulf of misunderstanding between people who live in the material, object-based world. And when some authority says something and says that one should act in such and such a way, everyone acts that way. After all, an authority said it. No additional analysis takes place; no one pays attention to the fact that the authority is not real. There are very many such examples in history: "Drink milk, it enriches you with calcium" - a lie, it leaches calcium. "Every day you need to eat something liquid, especially soup" - a lie, washing food down with water is harmful.
There are very many such examples, but if the opinion of an authority has strong significance for a person, no other person who shows the stupidity, and sometimes even the danger, of many authoritative statements will matter. There is no physiological ability to doubt anything. Sensitive people, even without knowing whether the information is false or not, at the first stage simply feel some inconsistencies. And when they follow their feeling, they begin digging up details and mismatches.
And all because this feeling torments them, and they want to get rid of it. When a person feels nothing of the kind, they will not go and sort anything out; they simply will not have the motivation to do it.
That is how we live. For some, the world is filled with psychos who see what does not exist. And for others, this very same world is filled with blind people who see nothing.
