Guardian Angel

Oculus archive. First published on 11.01.2026.

All yogic practices are aimed at studying death. Yogic samadhi is to experience death while the body is still alive. The Indigenous ayahuasca ritual is an initiation that makes a boy into a man. But passing through this ritual is the experience of one’s own death.

In any such experience a person encounters their “Higher Self”. Explicitly or not, in the form of an image or a sensation, but this contact takes place. God does not place his angel next to every person; the person himself is the angel. The yogic “Higher Self” is the Christian guardian angel. The “Higher Self” strives in every possible way to preserve the life of its human incarnation. This is not a metaphor and not a religious sermon. We protect and support ourselves. The “Higher Self” is powerful, but not omnipotent.

It practically does not experience emotions and sees each person’s life as a whole, from beginning to end. It intervenes when it can influence events, and it influences them. All miraculous rescues or transformations in your life are the actions of the “Higher Self”.

When a person is under insurmountable stress, the personality begins to strive away from the reality around it and toward the reality within. And in essence, it moves into the state of the “Higher Self”. For the “Higher Self”, human life is like a role it wants to perform. The universe is creative and constructive by its nature, but the building of the new is always connected with the destruction of the old. For a long time it seemed to me that nature was cruel. Some beings eat others, and that is terrible.

But meditations showed that at the moment of death, a dying being experiences an indescribable sensation of joy and bliss. Many yogis, even beginners, encounter this sensation of ecstasy. This mechanism is built into the nature of all living beings. Before death all suffering ceases, and the being begins to feel itself as divine light. Because the “Higher Self” does not experience human emotions, it does not suffer from the ending of its earthly life.

All its earthly attachments to relatives and loved ones, to unfinished business, or to its successes disappear. The “Higher Self” abides in its natural state - a state of bliss and joy.

No matter how much I explored otherworldly worlds, I did not find hell there. This space is simply not needed by the universe. Suffering is a law for movement, for creation. But we were not taught to use this law. We associate ourselves with suffering and create hell for ourselves. In the Tibetan Book of the Dead, when the process of dying is described, it speaks of a struggle with one’s inner demons. When the human personality is burdened with experiences, it does not strive toward the inner light. It clings to its desires, which will be destroyed by time. This is the essence of purification of the soul. To stop desiring what is temporary. To stop desiring what can never be yours.

Every thing, person, or position in society dear to us will not be able to cross the boundary between worlds and will be destroyed by time. We take with us only what changed us. Karma is not a magical concept; karma is the change of our “Higher Self”. As you think, as you act - that is how your “Higher Self” will now think when it wants to experience the birth experience.

If a person strives not to burden himself with impossible dreams, with the desire for what he cannot receive now, then such a person will become attached to his temporary form and his transition to the “Higher Self” will be long. This means he will observe how all temporary attachments begin to collapse, and this observation will sadden him and lead to suffering. Such a hell exists, and we can feel it even without dying. But it can be interrupted at any moment; one only has to accept that everything in this universe is temporary, even the universe itself.

We live for sensations, not for pleasures or a state of happiness. We want to feel, and that is precisely what matters most to us. And all because in the very depth of yourself you will discover that you are only perception. Everything that surrounds you may be false; it is not necessarily false, you simply cannot prove to yourself that right now you are not asleep, and that you fell asleep when you were 5 years old. And your whole life was a dream. Perhaps even your birth was a dream. There is no proof. But there is something that can be proven - your perception. You perceive yourself and this world. Only this is real; everything else may be deception. And since we are all perception, it is easy to believe that only perception interests us.

When you have tasted food, you no longer need the food. You were interested only in perceiving the taste. And you began eating in order to satisfy the discomfort of hunger. If the discomfort of hunger were removed, we would all stop eating, even for the sake of taste. Because you are perception, you can form for yourself the sensations you want to experience. And the better you become at it, the stronger these sensations are.

And you do not need to do anything for this. Just close your eyes and live the life you want. When you open your eyes, you will return to the world from which you fled. And when a person dies, his reality ends, and he returns to the same kind of imagination as imagination during life. With only one difference - this divine imagination will be a hallucination for him. Everything will be just as real as in human reality.

So that we, being perception, do not forget who we are, the universe created sleep for us. In sleep we live exactly the same way as in human reality. And when we wake up, we understand that we were just asleep. Some try to become aware of themselves in a dream in order to subdue reality to themselves. Yogis strive to learn to create a lucid dream for themselves without falling asleep. But in fact we all travel through our individual hallucinations, with rare moments of awakening. But only in order to become aware of the hallucination we have just left, and to create for ourselves a new hallucination again, a new lucid or ordinary dream.

Only this is real, and this is available to everyone. Only this can each of us prove to ourselves; the rest has no proof.
